Reason for poor start or long cranking of a car

If your car keeps cranking for a long time while starting, instead of starting like a leopard, then you must be in trouble، and want to get rid of this confusion.

Today we will try to understand and clear this confusion.

We know that the essential components required to start a vehicle are air, fuel and current, and besides these few things connected with them.

So what happens when a good car suddenly starts long cranking, so let's understand the problem of when and why this can happen.

The term long cranking means that while starting the vehicle, its self-starter is continuously cranking the engine, but the engine does not start at all or starts late.

Before discussing everything else, keep in mind that if your car was perfectly fine and suddenly has a long cranking problem, the first thing you should do is check the fuel pressure. Which should be at least 35 psi.

If the fuel pressure is less than this amount, the fuel pump motor may be weak or the fuel filter and injector may be clogged.

So, first of all, it is necessary to solve these problems.

Now the other thing we have to focus on, is the spark plug. Spark plugs have to provide current for the car to start properly. If for some reason the gap of these plugs is not adjustable, then the car will continue to play the music of long cranking. And you After listening to this music, you will be forced to put your hands on your head and think for its solution.

If the adjustment of the spark plugs is also correct and the physical condition of the spark plugs is also correct, then the fault may be in the current received by your vehicle.

When the fuel of the vehicle is reaching the engine combustion chamber with adequate pressure and the required amount of current is not available to burn it properly, then the vehicle definitely has to face long cranking. One of the reasons for not getting enough current is the spark plug, but another important reason is the ignition coils.

Sometimes the ignition coils main cracks causing leakage of current and as a result the full current is not delivered due to which the vehicle and its owner have to face long cranking.

Now we come to the next likely cause which is the battery.

If the battery is weak or its terminals are corroded, the amount of current required to start the car will not be available to the self-starter, resulting in the starter engine running at full speed. Will not be able to rotate. And the car will keep cranking long.

The reason for the lack of current in the battery can also be that the car's alternator is not fully charging the battery. And the end result is that the battery cannot provide the current to start the car.

Apart from this, the connections of the battery should also be checked to make sure that they are not loose.

Now it's time to find out about the fuel pressure and regulator to see how they can cause the long cranking problem.

Suppose you turn off the car. Then it is certain that the fuel pump of the vehicle will also stop. So what to understand now is that the fuel in the fuel line should go back into the fuel tank as soon as the fuel pump is turned off. But a fuel pressure regulator in the fuel return line prevents fuel from flowing back. So that some amount of fuel remains in the fuel line and whenever you start the vehicle again, it starts immediately.

Now at this point we hope you understand that if the fuel pressure regulator fails to keep the fuel in the line, all the fuel will go back into the tank and then when the vehicle is started again. If so, it will take some time for the fuel to come from the tank and for the fuel pressure to build up and long cranking will be experienced till then.

Talk about the sensors ECT i.e. engine coolant temperature if there is a fault due to any reason. So it doesn't tell the ECM correctly about the engine coolant temperature and eventually the result is that the ECM can't deliver the fuel according to the engine temperature and the long cranking sound keeps ringing in our ears.

Looking at the functions of the cam sensor and crank sensor, as far as the cam sensor is concerned, the engine starts due to its malfunction. But after quite a long cranking. Actually these two sensors adjust the cam and crank timing and getting their timing right plays a huge role in the vehicle starting and running properly. However, these two sensors provide information about cam and crank timing to the ECM and the ECM adjusts the cam and crank timing based on this information.

Remember that if it's cold weather, the engine oil can get tired and the petrol or diesel gets cold and crystals can form in them which makes it a bit harder to burn in the engine and you may experience long cranking. Is.
